1. About these terms
These Terms govern your use of the Curioso website (playcurioso.com) and our free, browser-based companion experiences (together, the "Service"), provided by FRIENDROID, LDA (Estr. de São Tiago, 376, 2415-543 Marrazes, Leiria, Portugal). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
2. Who can use it
The Service is intended for a general audience and for children used together with a parent or guardian. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the Service only with your parent's or guardian's permission. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children's use.
3. What the Service is
- The website presents information about Curioso collectible card decks and the companion app.
- The companion game/app runs in your browser and is provided free of charge. No account, login or registration is required.
- We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
4. Using the Service responsibly
Because there is no login, any progress is stored on your own device. Please use the Service lawfully and do not: misuse or disrupt it; attempt to breach its security; scrape, overload, or automate access to it; or use it to infringe the rights of others.
5. Intellectual property
The Curioso name and logo, the mascot ("Pip"), card artwork, text, the companion game, and all related content are owned by FRIENDROID, LDA or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property law. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial enjoyment. You may not copy, redistribute, modify, reverse-engineer (except where the law expressly permits), or create derivative works without our prior written permission.
6. Physical products
Physical Curioso card decks are (or will be) sold through retail and partner channels. Any purchase of physical products is governed by the terms of the relevant seller/retailer and applicable consumer law, not by these Terms — unless we operate our own online store, in which case separate sale terms (including your statutory right of withdrawal and pricing information) will be presented at checkout.
7. Third-party links and services
The Service may link to or rely on third-party sites and services we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or practices; their own terms and privacy policies apply.
8. Disclaimers
Educational content is provided for general learning and enjoyment and may be simplified. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law — including your mandatory rights as a consumer and liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. The "last updated" date above shows the current version.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, and disputes are subject to the competent Portuguese courts, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rights you enjoy where you live.
